Relocation Readiness Program

Welcome to Relocation Readiness! Moving is a part of life for Soldiers, Government Civilians and their Families. The Army Community Service Relocation Readiness Program provides assistance to the Total Army Family. We are dedicated to ensuring our clients are capable of surviving and thriving through the PCS and ETS processes. We have developed this program to assist you in finding information and resources to make you more resilient and agile as you navigate your next move.

Your first stop once you are notified of a pending PCS or ETS move should be your local ACS (Family Center) where you can meet with a Relocation Readiness Program Manager who will serve as a subject matter expert in assisting you through the process.

Relocating to Fort McCoy?

Welcome Packets

A welcome packet provides information on such items as housing, education, employment, medical facilities, childcare, maps, and local communities. It also contains a copy of the current Fort McCoy MilitaryINSTALLATIONS booklet. To request a welcome packet, please call ACS at +1(608)388-2359.

Newcomer's Orientation

The Newcomer Orientation provides all new personnel and spouses an opportunity to become familiar with services available at Fort McCoy and to receive a guided tour of the installation. Information is also provided by the Monroe County Veterans Service Officer,
the local Chambers of Commerce, and Tricare.  Orientations are conducted the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Register by calling ACS at +1 (608)388-2359.

Lending Closet

The ACS lending closet provides for the temporary loan of basic household items for incoming and outgoing personnel during a PCS move. Loans are generally for 30 days with extensions made on a case-by-case basis.  ID cards and a copy of your PCS orders are required; no cost involved.

Sponsorship

Sponsors are an integral part of the relocation process for both military and DA civilian personnel and their Family members. Sponsors should be trained in the process before sponsoring an incoming service member or civilian employee. Sponsorship should be made available to anyone making a permanent change of station (PCS) move. Sponsorship helps to ease the transition for the newcomer as well as Family members in integrating into their new assignment and community. Following are resource materials for anyone who will become a sponsor.
